I guess I should go ahead and introduce myself now. My name is Steven and I am Old Goat's youngest son.

Since I first went to look at this boat on Sunday, I have stopped by to look at it every day. Today, the owner met me there and let me hear it run in the parking lot. It runs just as smooth as I remember from when I was younger. Needless to say, I will be stopping at the bank tomorrow for lunch to pull some cash out, and after I get off of work, I will be a first time SeaCraft owner. I agreed to pay $500 more than the limit my wife and I set before I ever talked to the owner, but it does come with another used MerCruiser 470 that was pulled out of another running but hull-damaged boat (not a SeaCraft). I figured that it was worth it especially since there is $1000 of aluminum hanging off of the back of it.

I plan on doing a few maintenance items since it hasn't touched the water in over a year, and only running it in inland fresh water areas until I feel completely comfortable with it. Then I will finally be able to take my wife fishing in the Gulf of Mexico like we did when I was younger... in the same boat.

I am going to try and not spend all of my money doing a complete restoration on it for a while, as I am currently rebuilding a 1970 Chevrolet C-10, along with remodeling my kitchen. It's funny that 4 days ago, I had absolutely no intentions of owning a boat, and less than a week later here I am.
