Update-The power pack (CDI unit) was replaced before I bought it. We made sure all pins were connected. Now you may be on to something. There is a shift interupter switch in the binnie which shuts down one bank of cylinders when going into gear. It relieves the major klunk from the really old days.
Saves the gears in the lower. By design.
If you have compression, you have happinesss. Well done. Just have to chase what you have.
