She looked good from a far but shes far from good. Something does not add up here it appears that the cap may have had shoddy work done to it as well as it appears to be delaminating? Given the condition of the boat I would suggest pulling the cap as well so you can get to the underside of it. Why it's delamination is anyone's guess but I would strip anything the previous owner did and replace.

2. just inspect the stringers and check for water inside. While the floor is up you may want to consider raising it.
3. Depends on the type of boating you do. If the lake gets rough then you may want to raise the transom. Since you are already committed to replacing the transom I would suggest raising while you are in there. You are maybe talking another hours worth of work at most.
4. They will probably be sufficient but since you are replacing the floor I would suggest routing the scuppers out the stern.
5. Bracing not needed if you replace the transom and do it right. reinforcing the corners of the transom is important if putting on a bracket. If you have the room and like redundancy the go ahead and brace as it will not hurt anything. I am working on two older boats with good transoms but since they are old transoms we are going to brace.
