I did a similar thing to a lapstrake skiff and I enjoyed it, but it cost almost $1500 to redo in 2001. That was a smaller project than yours. For the number of hours I spent working on it I would have been better off spending the time working a second job at walmart or best buy and buying a seacraft But I learned a ton and it was a lot of fun to make a "custom boat" hahahaha





If you have a freshwater motor . . . hang onto it and all the rigging. I run a 86 Merc on my boat and ran a 1979 powerhead before that.
