CAT after reading your post about Strick I creeped around on his threads. Your description is correct about his work. He is my kind of guy! Not afraid to try anything and willing to get after it. Im a fast learner and working with my hands is my therapy. I grew up in a family owned metal fab shop and was AWS certified at age 15. Picked up on carpentry and concrete work along the way. Was the youngest superintendant at a local general contractor at 24. Dropped all of that and started in another trade, security system and life safety industry. With no prior experience I was on the second to be leading my own jobs after 90 days. Second only to a retired bomb tech out of the military. As you can see I like new challenges and get bored after a while. Ive owned over 150 cars since age 15. Ive had 6 this year. Some of them stripped all the way down and customized or restored. Many bored me and moved on. I decided I needed something new with 2 kids. They dont care for riding around in cars but they sure love the water. My first boat was a Cruisers Beachcomber 206. Completely restored the interior from the floor up. It was wood though. It had engine problems and old OMC foot no one wanted to touch. Knowing what I know now I would have glassed the transom and added a bracket and done away with the I/O. I lost a lot of money on that one. The next one I found I wanted to start on was an Aquasport 22-2. Mid to late 60s. Problem was it was a hull only and being new to boats I was a lil intimidated about the parts needed and pricing them was high. I could build my own trailer but even still after crunching the numbers I could find a complete project boat with trailer for what trailer build, cc, rigging, etc would cost me plus the time looking. So I posted it on CA forum and it sold the first night! I had already found this SC but didnt know anything about them. Just knew it was in my price range and complete. While talking to the Aquasport guy he suggested an SC project. I thought it was ironic I had already found one! So begins my new life as a SeaCraft owner. Im looking for the fellowship as much as Im looking for the info because frankly Im a workaholic and travel for work also. Plus Im finishing up a complete remodel of my house plus an addition. Most of my friends cant keep up!! I like being a part of something no one else has anyway and like having something no one else has. A sweet riding SeaCraft!!

Strick your 20 is super nice. That enclosed transom and glassed bracket is superb. I will def be building my own bracket out of glass now. I have been pricing aluminum to fab my own at our shop but the glass bracket looks sooo much better when finished. Still not sure if Ill close mine in all the way up. I have a 6 and 10 yr old. Prob leave a lil drop for a step thru.
