okay started back on the transom to fit the bracket.. I know this bracket is pretty ugly now. But it is still not trimmed out. nor faired, Definitly not as purdy as others but hey this aint no beauty contest....Yet.haha. where was i oh yea transom
As you all can see I had som issues with getting my outer skin to adhere to my new inner skin.. and as I looked long and hard at the new bracket and all the effort that went into that I decided to rip the old outer skin off. There were just to many voids and air pockets.. you can see all the circles and well the voids when i pulled the skin... Not to mention the outer skin is just mat glass.. anyway ripped it off and ground down the entire transome. The new glass layup is as follows. 2 layers of 2 oz and two layers of 18oz 90 biaxial.. then the new skin is 2 layers of 1708 biaxial and one layer of 2oz mat for the final outside layer.. ad of coarse a whole lotta sanding and fairing.. I feel much comfortable with this new glass then the old stuff..
