The scupper blocks in my 74 Tsunami were big one piece blocks of fir bedded in some putty, with a real lousy applied layer of glass. They were both rotted and needed replacement.
I ended up using a piece of 6x6 pressure treated yellow pine that I had laying around for years. It was a solid piece with no splits and was dry as a bone.
I shaped it to the dimensions needed, marked where the holes needed to be,and drilled them on a drill press.
I gave them a couple coats of epoxy resin on the outside of the block and the inside of the holes and bedded them back in place.
I Re-installed new tubes basically the same way McGillicuddy did.(thanks for the great pics Gillie)
