Tree,cigaret,bubble,and seats
Ok;
Tremendous response, thank you. This could fill a few pages, I will make it brief. 1st I still have a day job, love the water, am a tinkerer, have 2 other boats which we use regularly(cruiser & 15'jet), have owned 14 boats in 45 years.
10 days ago I saw the back and the front of this boat shoe horned between 2 derelict VW'S. the out drive and the windshield caught my attention. Old like what I learned to ski with, IO rare in the early 60's. I stopped and looked for hull I'd = no numbers on right rear, got the name. Went home did research, found the Moesly web site, read all the information and looked at the 15' brochure, no windshield though. The man who owns the 2 VW'S has about 60 more behind a chain link fence, and is an acquaintance of ours. On Thursday last week I called him and said hey Bob what's the deal with that old boat by the street. He said I had it out at the house but I had to move it last week. He's owned it over 20 years. So I said you gonna sell it? Yea, thers a fella that wants to buy the engine. I said I'll stop by tomorrow and take a look. Went over and looked for something that would verify scampi, I found tag, left side under deck.
Made an offer, he said no this guy will give me more for the engine, ok how much will you take? $$$$ Ok I'll call you tomorrow (Saturday) and pick it up. This is truly a boat rescue, this boat was on its way to the scrap yard. The county insinerator loves these old Fiberglas heaps, they burn really hot, makes a lot of electricity.
Last Sunday we planted the tree by the hanger where we will work on the boat.
Smokem if you gottem.
The plexi bubble is missing, so glad Bob didn't fill in the hole.
The seats; one visible authentication for this boat are the logo bottom stamped on the back of the bucket seats. I was real concerned about the seats not being original because Bob had them upholstered and the logos were covered up.
James
PS. I am surprised no one has mentioned the windshield, since it was not even an option. Bob said " I installed the windshield, after I painted over the ugly orange deck".

Reason: Grammar, spelling.
