One thing I started doing to stop this from happening is to coat the nuts and studs with the silver never-seize. I always did just the studs to help the nuts come off and relized that the stuff keep the nuts from rusting up as well. So I started smearing on some around the nuts too and it keeps them looking new for years. It dose not sling off or will it run all over the rims. Once it sits a few days it gets hard on the out side a little bit and protects them. It will still wipe off easyly and clean up well. This might help you get more time out of the next set. I replaced mine every 2 years now I am going on 5 with the same set and no problems yet. The last thing you want is to have a flat and cant get the nuts off.
