Au contraire mon frere. Mademoiselle Marsha and I have secured site 70. It is my overriding concern not to place myself too close a proximity to 1) nuclear reactor, 2) a volcano or 3) the Port Carla Marina Tiki Hut. Sometimes a little space is a good thing. I mean they have the band going till 2:30 AM or so and then the garbage truck arrives at 4:30 AM to pick up two or three dumpsters full of empty bottles of Don V's rocket fuel. I'm old and cranky and believe me I need my beauty sleep. Broward County's Ranger Rick has assured me that there are no CSC members on either side of our site, just two locals, a Debbie Wasserman Shultz and a Col. Allen West - so things should be quite peaceful. As a "Be Prepared" Sea Scout, additionally I have contacted one "K-Moose" in Ocala, off line, and have scoured all available data, including that in that in the Offshore Hunter software program to determine the best available dive sites for our bivouac. We have located many "targets of opportunity" in this quest. Something's going to get "harpooned". In the mail today I received both the Army Corps of Engineers and the DEP Maintenance Dredging permits for the Long Pointe basin and surrounding estuary so pretty much everything is in order in my end for the dredge Marshtackie to begin work.
Now since you lucky dogs live in Sunny South Florida and don't understand how the rest of us have to endure the long cold winters up here, you would not comprehend that tonight I have to put my snow shoes on, trudge out to the boat shed, take the bubble wrap off my compass and change the oil to 10 weight "winter oil" so it wouldn't freeze and crack the lens. But no matter what, I am committed to driving though the slush to enjoy the warmth of the sun in May at this CSC event. I just hope I cut enough cords of firewood to get through the winter this year - I don't want to loose any more toes or fingers....!
