But my question is, would this year have a Hull ID on the transom and what is the exact layout suppose to look like on this kinda year? Is it suppose to look like my old 76' 20SF or is it like the Tracker boats that have rear looking like an MA and front of an SF. Hope I am describing this question clearly.
What you're looking at is a Moesly 4-stringer hull, which may be even better quality than a Potter hull! It will not have a HIN on the transom as those weren't required till about 73 or 74. It will look like an early Potter SF except the console may be smaller. Scuppers will probably run out the transom. If it's original, it will have a relatively small fuel tank under the console instead of below the cockpit sole. It may also have the Moesly-designed bait well under the port stern seat that circulates water without requiring a pump. The baitwell inlet/outlet fitting in the transom was a potential transom killer if it leaked however, so it's worth checking the transom in that area.
