The transom was replaced 7 or 8 year ago. Water soaked wood was my first thought. when I removed the trim tabs last year I ground out the screw holes and found the wood to be dry then filled and then covered with several layers of glass. the first time it happened the screws remained in the transom but the trim tab was hanging by the 4 outboard screws.
Should I remove that section of the transom and replace it with new wood and glass? Could I thru bolt the tab?
