After looking it over better once I got it home I realized it was engine oil not lu gear oil. When the owner brought it to me it sat in his truck at my work all day on its side and when I loaded it up that evening I saw the oil coming out from around the prop and assumed it was from the lu and that a seal was bad. Turns out it was just where the oil ran out of the exhaust from being laid over on its side. The oil made its way down the mid section then came out around the prop. Cleaned it up well and stood it up in a barrel of water checked the fluids and the crank case was over filled a little bit so I drained it to the full mark. Hooked up a battery and she fired right up after sitting for 3 years. Ran like a top only thing is it needs a new water impeller due to a weak stream to hardly no stream out the tail tail. Didn't run it long but will change the impeller and the only other issue was the shift cable was loose under the cable connector. She will be a nice backup for the 25' if I go with a single. Just need to find a way to mount/carry it up in the cabin so it keeps the weight forward instead of on the back of the transom.
