It is grey and looked awesome. However, I learned a couple more lessons with the Kiwi.
1. Don't try to rush the project so you can get back on the water
2. Read the instructions
We had a tournament this past weekend and were really pushing to get the boat ready to fish. We got the boat fishable and entered. It was great to get the boat back on the water and we caught some fish. We even eeked out a top 20 finish out of 196 boats. Now time to pay for rushing.
Not sure what went wrong with the kiwi. We put it down on Thursday and fished sunday. Also, I think we used to fine of sandpaper on the floor. Going back to the drawing board on the Kiwi.
The one thing that I did not like about the kiwigrip is that it was "slick". There was plenty of non skid but when it was wet you would slip on it. Has anyone else had this problem or did we completely screw the pooch on the installation?
The boat really performed much better with the weight of the fuel tanks moved forward. I had the delusional dream that we may pick up some speed with all the repairs and weight we removed from the boat, but it was just a dream. I ran it wide open with about 30 gallons of fuel and saw 40 knots.
Please give me some feedback on the Kiwigrip.
Thanks,
BA
