That boat looks great, except motors are too close together!
You can also mount them higher if mounted farther apart to reduce draft! If you rig them like Don Herman does (He sells kits, which run the rigging down into flotation tank and then thru transom;see pic below) it'll leave a much cleaner swim platform! If I were to redo that installation, I'd move the rigging a little further aft on platform to provide even more space from transom. I was trying to keep the tubes close to access hatches but a couple inches further aft would not have made much difference.
Would be interesting to see a performance comparison between your boat and the one you almost bought! That Owners web site I posted the link to has tons of info on those motors so it's worth checking out!
