To any body that may be considering building a bracket- just be sure you are ready to take something like this on. The materials will be over a $1000 and it can take well over an hundred hours to build. If you figure the cost of your time you will be much better off just buying and proven Hermco bracket. If you are hard headed like me and want to build your own make sure it is safe so you don't drop you outboard off the back of the hull or worst yet hurt someone. It can be a challenge when figuring in all the angles but a fun project for someone with the time and skills to do so.
