No hook of any significance, no need for it. A hook can help with low speed planing and maybe (no proven research I can find) with other handling characteristics. The faster you go the benefit of the hook causes more trouble than its worth IMHO

The boat will have nice big trim tabs to do that work, and trim tabs are retractable

Of course, its really easy to build in a slight hook, you just don't fair very far the overlaps of glass coming from the transom to the bottom. The boat I build will probably have around 3/16" hook, but it will be faired out to 3' or more forward
