I used KiwiGrip on mine. Very easy to apply (...aside from taping off pattern) - lay down your final finish coat, tape your pattern with 3M fine line, scuff application areas with a scotch brite pad, wipe clean, spread with a soft trowel and roll it out. It cleans well, texture can be dialed in to your liking and it has held up great after one season. It's water based and can be tinted with pretty much any pigment from what I understand. I bought the plain white, took it to Home Depot and had them match it to a Behr color, I believe it was called Oyster. To get an idea of contrast, my topsides paint is Interlux Perfection Oyster White. Best of luck with your project - post some pics.
