That is one of my favorite configurations - a friend had a Savage inboard several years ago and I loved it. I have seriously considered converting my Sceptre into a Savage for a while. I prefer the arrangement over a CC - to me it the best of both configurations even if there is less deck space. I would expect the transom to be shot and likely some soft spots in the deck.
