DI motors are pretty sensitive to fuel restriction, so it's good to minimize the number of 90 degree elbows in your fuel system between motor and boat, as each elbow will add about 0.05" Hg of restriction to the system! Discovered that when I had my dealer run the BRP fuel system test and found that I had too much restriction in my fuel system. All fuel lines should be 3/8". Replaced some elbows with longer hose and got the restriction down below the 0.4"Hg limit. Don't know if they can run that test on a Ficht motor, but if they can it might be worth doing after adding the filter, so I'd ask your dealer about it! Also make sure any fittings are fully drilled out to max diameter. The dealer for my old motor said he once traced a blown powerhead on a carb'd motor to a fitting that wasn't fully drilled out!
