If yours is a 2000 year then the motor diagram is a little different. The 92 up to 99 all were about the same like shown in the first motor wiring dia. The 2000 has cdm's instead of coils and there is no switch boxes for the coils. Same style ecu on 2000 as the previous years but in 2003 up, then they went to the Motorola style computer. I am going to give you a link to an online copy of the mercury factory manual for your motor. The wire diagram for the 2000 year style wiring is on pg 171,172 and 635. You can flip threw the book via this site and also print the manual if you have about 700 sheets of paper in your copier. It will be very handy moving forward if you keep this outboard. (if you decide to up grade let me know love to give you an offer on this one since your so close) Love the 2.5 mercury's, I have several currently and they are a well designed motor. Most of the parts interchange on multiple years and are easy to find. Good simple motors to work on...
