There was reportedly one bad 23' mold among the ones that SeaCraft Industries acquired from Potter in 1980 or so and he supposedly told them not to use it, but they apparently did, as I looked at 23 Sceptre with the hook in the center panel shown below that Chuck mentions. Tracker made a number of changes when they took over from SeaCraft Industries, and I suppose adding a wedge or hook into the hull as a band aid to compensate for heavier motors could have been one of the changes, as I think 4 stroke motors were starting to appear about the time Tracker took over. However I doubt it would have been needed on a WA model with it's larger cabin up front; even the later Sceptre's with plywood instead of balsa core in the decks seem to be be a bit bow heavy and handle a heavy 4 stroke very well, so don't think I'd want one with a hook in it!
