The new Gen V Marine LS series L86 motor is aluminum, weighs less than a 383 and has more power. It has 6.2L displacement - Volvo is offering it at 420 or 430 HP and Kodiak is also offering it. I think even with the FWC it is something like 150# less than a 5.7 or 383. Problem is that it probably isn't as cheap as a 383.
