Doesn't it make sense to just keep gauges up there without any controls. Here is a pic of mine. I have my switch panels under the wheel and will only put engine gauges on the pod. I failed to get a picture of the trim tab panel. It is mounted to the left of the steering wheel. The throttle will be mounted to the right of wheel.



I also have a full width electronics box and all electronics will go there. I won't be able to reach the GPS while sitting in the helm chair, but I am not aware of too many boats where this is possible anyway. The captain always has to stand to reach the electronics whether they are on the console or overhead in an electronics box.
