1977 SeaCraft SF 23
1977 SF 23 here.
I bought this boat in 2004 in Pompano Beach. It was rigged with a carbed 200 Mercury Offshore and sat on its original aluminum trailer. I believe I am the 3rd owner. The transom had previously been replaced.
Upon purchase I added a custom aluminum T-Top from Boca Tops with electronics box. The hull has never been bottom painted, and has the original console and teak throttle base.
I ran that 200 for eleven more years and I estimate (conservatively) about another 3000 hrs before it was time to retire.
In 2014 the hull was stripped of all hardware and the slowly expanding soft spots by the bow eye, front casting platform and starboard deck by the console were recored. The and all new stainless hardware and rod holders were installed (not before every hole was properly epoxied) and the cockpit and decks sprayed with Awlgrip Matterhorn White. A new stainless rubrail replaced the 38 year old original.
I repowered in 2015 with a "new" 2012 Merc 200 Optimax. I think it is a good match for the hull, lightweight and plenty of torque. She sips fuel at cruise and tops out in the high 40s. Good enough for an old girl.
After receiving estimates for painting the hull, I opted to wet sand her and buff her out. I swear that gelcoat shines like new.
