I hear that, 95 pages of rules just fo the area between Homer and Denali entrance. We had nice chromer Kings and Steelhead at Anchor River starting at midnight Sat 17th. Kings were all nice 20-35 lbs as big as my leg. Steelhead around 20" but all catch and release in that stream. Went to Homer one evening to have dinner but didn't fish. Colder there than up in Denali. Met a local at the airport that lost 2 bro's when their boat flipped while fishing Halibut out of Homer on Tuesday.
Russian River was packed and the concept of "flossing" is best left for dentists and hot women on a toasty beach or SeaCraft. Didn't fish it. Fished Quartz Creek for a while saw a huge mutated King but didn't have enough time or gear to give it a fair go. I hope to return with more insight and preparation and work that and Russian over more heartily.
Beautiful place to be sure, but I have never seen such complex fishing regs. Hope you had a great trip.
On a sadder note, 2 people were killed by black bears the week I was there. One of them was young biologist taking soil samples at Pogo Mine - she was a niece of our friend in Anchor Point - just devastating. The other was a 16 year old young man attacked while participating in a mountain race near Alyeska resort.
