Make it robust, strong to take a beating. The soft tops that last the longest, are the ones that you don't take off. Use isinglass that is heavy gauge, the most clear, durable stuff you can afford 'cause you're going to be looking through that more than the glass windshield. Make sure it's all TIGHT. Use premium thread for sewing. I went with a vinyl-like material for my hardtop - just as durable as canvas ( I forget the trade name, but its used a lot )...

Don't skimp ! Go to the most reputable guy. You're going to have this for a while so you should really be happy with it.

I used a guy around by me to do my hardtop curtains - he wasn't cheap, but damn! his work is good and I'm very happy !

As for design, there are some guys on this site who had posted pix of their soft tops and they were awesome looking - a guy in NJ had my favorite...
