Regarding bravo1x drive, I would encourage you to explore using a bravo3x drive. I repowered two boats within 5 years, the first bravo1x. Works great, it is bullet proof. I didn't use the bravo 3x because I had heard horror stories about corrosion in salt water. Both boats are fresh water cooled. The second one i used the bravo 3x. I have had it 10 years, and couldn't be happier. I think it gets a little better performance , as well as handles better due to the counter rotating props, especially backing and trolling slow. The first was a mercruiser 5.7l with full fresh water cooling. The second is a yanmar diesel, 6 cylinder, 315 hp, full fresh water cooled. Both boats about the same size and weight. Gas boat burns about 10 gph, diesel about 7 to 8. Both will push boat to 45, with 28 to 32 mph being good cruise speed. If cost was close, I would use bravo 3x.
