Thought process:
If you look at the left of the pic/console, you will notice the engine harness. On the right hand side the hydraulic hoses for steering. We tried to keep the electronics/wiring separate too so if one aspect needed to be addressed, it was some what segregated (short of cutting 2 zipties to separate steering lines from wiring). Also, I hate seeing 10 different wires coming off a battery (which does not meet ABYC standards) so when it comes to changing batteries it is only one wire on each post - simple! The float switch hot/bilge pump comes off the batteryswitch and we installed a negative post, tying all the grounds together.
