You'll get mixed answers on this. I personally like the foam, and if measures are taken to keep it dry, there are no problems. I like the added sound deadening/stiffness it gives the hull. When I did my bass boat, and my 20 SeaCraft, I cut 2" holes in the finished floor and poured foam in from there. Then glassed over them. In the areas I have foam, there are NO penetrations. No screws, no hoses, nothing. I'm fairly confident that they will stay dry. Some people say it will always get wet somehow.
