Most CSC members are unaware that Spidercrab Sam actually comes from a prominent southern family. Although, his kin's branch of the "Family Tree" veered radically off to the left a couple of generations ago. It is said that Sam was kin to Jefferson Davis (Hogg).
Although Sam didn't formally appear at the Gathering, it is reported he previewed the Homosassa Scalloping grounds a week before the event with some members of his family. Specifically his 3rd cousins, twice removed Darcy and Megan. See the attached video for his adventure. He was off camera most of the time (as he is not good TV!), but appears faintly in the murky water scenes...enjoy!
