I put one in my 18 two years ago and couldn’t be happier. Feels like I’ll never have to do it again.

Years ago I used to sell chemicals to the commercial fishing fleets. One day I was delivering two 55 gallon drums of a hazardous, acid based product in 55 gallon poly drums (520 lbs/dr) to a tuna boat docked downtown San Diego. One of the crew members jumped in the back of my lifted Toyota pushed the drum over and kicked it out of the back of my truck. I watched in horror as the drum literally bounced off the ground but didn’t leak a single drop. It left a lasting impression of how tough poly is and definitely played into my decision to go with a poly tank.

The only negative I’ve read is that fuel will permeate the tank and you’ll be able to smell the fuel. I keep my boat inside my work warehouse and haven’t experienced this.
