Ugh, sorry the answer is no..
I restored my 1970 20 SF 30 years and yes the welding wire was used at that time.. Soldered terminal lugs, epoxy heat-shrinked running through a chase and tube to the engine.. Done correctly it will last forever. I used tin coated copper for all the other house wiring system.. To this day have never blown a fuse or had electrical issues once !!

I have been to the keys, west coast, you name it always around salt air..
Mostly out of Ponce Inlet ..
