Thanks guys for all the great info. I went thru the transom well thru hull fitting and plumbed to the center console. Then mounted the pump to the console floor and wired it to a seperate switch. Everything worked out great and it's pumping fine.
So, I have a one foot length of hose hanging down the transom for a pickup. Will screw it down in the future with a stainless clamp.
