I painted my boat with Sterling brand two part paint with the role and tip method came out very good. I would say if you spray Awlgrip would be my first choice if you role and tip Sterling would be my first choice. SPRAYING IS VERY DANGEROUS if you don’t use a full air line/ hose respirator face mask protection. I have herd of people dying not using the proper protection so if you spray be careful. As for the prep work remove all wax and oil from the boat sand the gel coat with 220 grit paper, apply one coat of primer (use the same manufacturer as the paint) sand smooth then apply 3 light coats of paint if you spray no sanding if you role and tip sand between the coats of paint. there are several threads on this sight about painting if you go back and look at them.
