I've seen a few of the jobs this guy has done. I think he knows how to paint with awlgrip, but im not under the impression he knows all that much about the structural integrity of fiberglass. For instance, why would you cut the outside of a transom out thus reducing the strength of the entire hull? Ive never seen this before. Its always the inside that gets cut out from all the boatyards i've been around... you simply cant get the strength back after you break that physical bond, even with epoxy. I've also heard through the grapevine that he is slower than molasses, immensely overpriced and not able to meet his own deadlines. I have been to the shop and had to wait for over an hour just to talk to Mike (during the work-week), its like he is never there. In short the work is GOOD FROM FAR but FAR FROM GOOD. Take a look at his work in person (the finished product) pictures may be worth a thousand words, but you are being shown what he thinks looks great to begin with.
