Default Re: When I run accross things in my search ;)

I highly recomend staying away from this guy.I also was impressed with some of his restoration jobs on seacrafts and reffered a few seacraft owners to him. But after i had contracted him to replace the transom on my 20'seacraft(the yellow 1970 on his web site) I relized what I was dealing with. After being 2 weeks late we went to pick up the boat and had found a very average back yard repair and paint job,and also a bill for 10% more then the already high contract price.I had got other prices from established boat yards with real paint booths and decided to go with mike becouse he was familiar with seacrafts, and he was doing a restoration on my buddys 23' (blue one on his site) and it apeared to be going good. He also had cost over runs that exceeded 10% and did not do any of the mechanical contracted items on the contract, or did he replace or reinstall any hardware on the boat, or replace the boot stripe. His boat was over a month late getting to him. And then after all that mike bad mouths me becouse I wouldnt let him paint my whole boat.If you are going to have this type of work done I would stick with a licensed (EPA aproved) professional not a guy paint boats in his back yard. If any one has any question about the caliber of the work PLEASE contact me and I would be more then happy to uncover the boat to show you.His work sucks.
