I too have both versions ..... but looks like the seat door ( as John shows above ) is no longer an option for me ... That forward fish hold deck was split to allow the deck to accordian under that seat .... on my boat that deck is one piece and solid now.... Like Capt S mentions the room without the seat is real nice ....and the weight loss is pretty significant.....I think Fellow-Ship had that door and cut the seat out

I have seen a forward seat that is fabricated out of aluminum pipe(nice cushion) that attaches to the door and has a pair of legs that support it. I think I've seen this on the new Contenders?? Its removable so you can keep off the boat most of the time [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] ....then throw it onboard when doing the cruising thing [img]images/icons/shocked.gif[/img]
