Default ? White/Black ?

I'm replacing My instrument panel,All the gauges, Vhf, Cd enclosure,Garmin depth ,furuno(paintaed) are BLACK.Now should the Instrument panel be white or black? Its gloss white now.I was gonna do it in flat white but that would lead to finger prints & smudges too hard to keep clean.Black would also be really shiny? How bout Krinkle Paint(HotRodders know this stuff)Its in the back cut out & ready to be painted.
The panel sits at a small angle & due to Our Xtreme brightness & Heat? just don't want the Glare.

I see your point Jack but, cars have a roof and cars do not get exposed to the harsh elements that a boat dash will be exposed to. Just an FYI, have ya ever had to clean all that black stuff inside a dash after you have it apart? Trust me, I have, it doesn't work and it is a pain in the butt to do.

I still say gloss white or, as an alternative, a semi gloss white..

How about color key it. I'm a big fan of highlighting a color that is used on the boat. Ever see a Salt Shaker boat, there panels match the boat color. A lot of the times I'll tint the gel-koat on the under side of a hard top just to help knock down the glare of the white.. What about light gray or a lighter version of the water line color.

John,
Don't listen to Jack, his suggestions rarely make sense . He's got a black dash on his Sceptre and every weekend at the marina (our boats are next to each other) I see him burning his hands on the hot black plastic . Right Jack? Hehehe .

Tug,
Leave it white. It looks good, my opinion of course. The krinkle will have finger prints all over it and will be a pain the in butt to clean. Ya, it will be black but all that stuff will show. Black is also VERY HOT.....

Want to get rid of the glare, can you say "T-Top"?????

Oh, the pics look good but, you could make them a little bit bigger, about half way between what ya had and what ya got now, to answer your question in the other post. See, I do read them!!!

Oh, by the way, it looks awesome!!!!

John
PS. I am going fishing this weekend!!!!Gonna get the new boat all bloody!!!!!

Ever see a white dash board in a a car? Too much glare off the dash, black panels are better. My opinion only.

Thanks for the Get-backs I took My Inst. panel back to the Body shop to PATCH were the Jig saw poped a crack in it .It was repaired & primed.I posted the colr request? The Painter said come look at the color. He had 8 hrs to paint finish coat or the primer would re-seal! (Idea)Later I went back & looked at it,It was the same Ivory White of the Original color(primer),(beige tint).OK except; I have changed the color to cloud white & Matterhorn white(very light grey) & blacks, so I went & Leaned over while the New color(primer) was mixed Did it a Light grey to match ,It was painted with a "3" part epoxy primer.Almost perfect match to Matterhorn w. This means I have a Flat light grey Non-glare panel !!Just hope they are right 'bout the sealing part !Put it in Our HHHOT Bright Sun it it didn't blind Me !Glad I caught the painter before He painted it (Finished)!
Thanks again ! If anyone is interested in the kind of primer let Me know,I'll find out.
