Default Cleats. Pull up or Pop up?

Ok, another question of the day...........

Does anyone know who makes these wonderful cleats, other than Accon? I am looking for choices for the new rig, going to replace the one in front and the two out back plus, add one on each side in the middle. I have checked Accon's stuff out and have seen it but, is there anyone else that you know of that makes these now. They have become more and popular so somebody has to be doing it....

Anyone have any experience, good or bad, with either the pull ups or pop ups??

John

Hey JohnS
Me Again! If You decide t go with accon I have an account with them.I went Pull up cause of the "POP" Sounds like a 10 gauge going off,Inshore scares the Fish's off Offshore Atracts them.?? Anyway I know of cleats that do not operate .A few springs not ss that will wear out, use whatever to get them up.They do look better ,But troublefree is sometimes better. The pull ups wobble a lil more but I can grab them.
Marpac makes them also, another co.just can't find it in My head right now.(Tourn'ys)
If You want accon let Me know.I'm gonna make another order.I replaced everything on mine w/them.bow light lift cleat bimini top Quick release every thing.

There are a couple of other companies out there that make them: Attwood, Slim-Line and Seachoice...check out these websites: www.overtons.com and www.boatingstore.com. Do a search for "cleat" not "cleats" and it will bring up the various styles and size for both pop-up and pull-up.

Thanks Tug,
Shoot me off an email when you are about ready to order them and I will let ya know. I am still trying to decide which to get. Not too worried about the pop ups not popping up because I am very good at washing the boat down EVERY time and I am, well, a bit anal when it comes to the boat being clean before I put it up.... I am leaning more to the pull ups but I am going to be mounting two of them on an almost vertical surface and I think I will need the pop ups for that and do not want to mix and match. See, I am already cutting the new boat up and adding the toys....All of the electronics are finally in, as of last week Friday. Now it is on to the other stuff....

Put your hand over the pop up (when you push the button) and it won't POP!

I was just thinking about the same thing! Capt, can you help me out? I was thinking about getting the Accon pull up slim line. Part number 301-6. Might be interested in the pull up bow light too.

Thanks, Jim

The nice thing about the pull-ups is that they are dead flat...same level as the deck, while the "slim line" are not. If you are going to go flush you might as well go all the way.
