Default deck and hull pait/sanding help

Hey guys-

Gonna get some pics up soon on my "project" but for now another question: I have test sanded the hull to get it back to decent looking but am finding the black pit marks will not come out, and the color is staying a eggshell or ecru color. Any ideas? Boat is a 78 model and has never been waxed, very rarely even washed as it was kept in the water for most of its life.

Also, the deck as numerous cracks in it. What's the best way to correct that one? Can I "paint" over the cracks and if so what do I use? [no load bearing cracks]. Also what's the best non-skid finish?

Thanks guys!

Tom Bare.
