Inboard dripless shaft seal replacement?

My dripless shaft seal went and I'm in the midst of trying another manufacturer, has anyone tryed the PSS Shaft Seal dripless system? I've tried new 'O' rings on mine and it's just not sealing for unknown reason(s). I'd like to stay with the dripless system verses the older style packing type stuffing box and the PSS unit has been recomended.

Wish I could help Jeff but I know very little/nothing about either. Hope yours didnt fail ant an "innaproprite time".

The SeaCraft gods were watching over me as I had been 40 miles out that day, the shaft seal went in the inlet on the way in (one bluefin in the cooler).

Jeff,
I repowered my Hatteras Last year and decided to go the dripless stuffing box route. The guy who bedded my engines recommended the Strong Seal's.
I have had no problems thus far and the nice thing about these seals is the give you a replacement seal that is already mounted on the shaft if you need to replace it.
How is the alignment on your engine? also your cutless bearings?
is the shaft bent or worn?
Just a few things to check.
Also if you ever need a new shaft, try Rose Marine, in Gloucester, MA, best prices on the east coast even with shipping.

FYI inboard crowd I installed the PSS dripless system as shown on www.pyiinc.com, so far its the best I've been able to source and is working real well...so far...
