![]() I want to properly winterize my 2004 mercruiser 5.7 liter, 300hp freshwater-cooled i/o ( and bravo 3 drive ) myself this year - This is my first i/o motor and am unfamiliar w/ the process. Prior to this motor, I was an o/b guy and did all my own work. The last season I had my mechanic winterize, but this year; new house, a 1 month old baby - I have yet to find where $ actually 'grows on trees'. So, either how is this done, or where can I read, in detail, about what needs to be done. Thx. |

Do a google search on the following: winterizing an inboard outboard drive -
this will result in numerous good hits giving you the info you seek - I just ran this and found one specific to the mercruiser - scanned several others - all seemed accurate. My two previous boats were I/O's, and I've always done my own - just remember that you have a car motor hooked to an outboard, essentially - the major difference will be whether you have closed circuit or raw water cooling for the motor. Good luck! Bill |
