Default Wiring Help..

I have a 23 1984 sceptre, It seems that the wiring from the Helm area to the batts is all original and it has been giving me trouble. I Paid a mechanic to replace the batts and batt wires and Switch but he did not want to get involved any further. Does any one have experience rewiring the accesories and Bilge pump and float switch, trim tabs etc. I'm looking for a proven plan of attack. Thank you for the help.

I had one but don't remember if the wire ran under the gunnel or a tunnel, you can do simply by attaching a new wire to an old one and pull it up or back and wire it right where the old one was, or do a few at a time. The wire goes thru the tunnels pretty easy you will be surprised.

Thank You, think it is a tunnel. Does a main power lead rung from the batt switch to the breaker to give it power? Or are they wire direct to the batts.
I will steer clear of Black Diamond for major repairs, though I did use them to Shrink Wrap our 24 Aquasport last year. May be they shoud stick to the simple work..

Thanks for the help.

For the main feed wire going foward, it should come off the house battery with a short lead [12in or less] and hook to a proper size breaker. I like the bulkhead mounted one's by Blue Sea's.

Then it will go foward to your Buss bar or the buss bar on the fuse panel, which will fuse the indidual circuit's.

By going from the house battery you eliminate the problem of spiking the electronic's when cranking the motor.

Blue Sea's has a nice new combiner out now to charge both starting and house batteries.
