My boats value???

I think I may be at the point where I will be looking to purchase a new boat. My question is how much do I ask for my old one? She is not a seacraft but she is a classic design none the less. If you go with blue book it does not reflect all I have put into her since I bought her. I figured here is a good place to start because we are all familiar with classics and I value everyones opinion. And with Trayders permission I would like to list here assuming I decide to sell.

What shape are the transom and deck in? What kind of engine compression do you get?

Have you done a search on the internet to see what similar boats are going for?

Wow, quick reply.

The transom and deck are solid. I have drilled holes in it to mount trim tabs and transducers and no water came out and the shavings were dry. The deck was repaired by me about 6 years ago when I got it. It is plywood covered with glass. And I cut out the bad stuff, faired and painted. It still looks good.
Last year I did a compression test that showed all cylinders to be betweeen 90 and 96 psi on my guage.
That 1990 is interesting , I wish there were more pictures of it.

I have a short list of a few boats that I would like. the latest I am going to look at is a 25 Parker. Same size as the whitewater but a whole different animal. I still have my 20SF and am looking for a family fishing/traveling machine.

I have no clue on asking price/value, but I do believe it might not fetch as much as if it were a CC. My reasons for saying that are 1) you have a fairly unknown boat in the NE, and being a cuddy version, it is even more unfamiliar; and 2) you appear to be slightly underpowered by a 14-year old engine. Don't get me wrong, the boat is beautiful and I'm sure it's been well maintained, but it is a bit of an unknown in the New England market. Plus a lot of guys may look at a 25-footer with only a single 200hp and be turned off.

Thanks for the reply Scott. I agree with all of your points. Its the age old question about selling stuff. If you ask too high, you may put off a potential buyer, too low you feel like an idiot.

I have never seen another whitewater in this configuration before. When I bought it it met my needs perfectly, even with the 200. It runs surprisingly well with it, no speed demon but no slouch either. If I decide to keep her it needs to be repowered. I know what I have into it and if I can get that I will probably be happy. I wish I could keep them all. I never sold the previous boat because she is a Seacraft.

the hull on that boat is really nice looking. In my eyes it looks like a cross between a bertram and a regulator. Did you ever think about repowering that and putting a half tuna tower on it? That would be sweet for that boat. Good luck with the sale but if you don't sell her it would be nice to refit it.
