Default Adding a Platform??????? 23' Sceptre (1978)

I am considering repowering after this fishing season. I currently run a 98 225 Optimax and I have 1300 hours on it. I am considering glassing in the transom on my potter hull. Any thoughts? Considering a 300 zuk as well as some other options.

Thanks!

Daniel

I have read through a lot of the bracket projects on this site over the years. I would really appreciate some of you who have been through this before to share some of your wisdom. I love the boat and hate to change it... dad bought it new in 78 and it has been fished HARD and greatly appreciated for 29 years. Just seems that a bracket would improve the ride and safety of the boat.

You just described my next boat

I think it's a great idea. If you are going to tackle it your self then be aware that there is a tremendous amount of work involved. If you are going to have someone do it for you then be aware that there is a tremendous amount of money involved

I cant speak for the difference in ride in a bracketed 23 sceptre because I've never rode in one but I can say that it made my 23cc ride like it was 2 feet longer. These boats are so soft riding to begin with I don't think you can improve anymore in that regards.

Hey CarlaDee.....are you out of Charleston, SC??
I live in Mount Pleasant and have a Tsunami I'm redoing...including building a bracket for it. If you're local I'd love to see your boat and even lend a hand...

I am putting an Armstrong bracket on, and filing in the transom on Sceptre over the next couple of weeks. I am looking at reenforcing the transom, and putting a live well in. I am trying to figure out the mounting height on the bracket this week.
