Default Bilge pump outfall location??

I'm putting a new 1500 GPH Rule bilge pump in my boat to compliment my little 500 gph that currently lives in the bowels of my boat.

I'm running a 1-1/8" line to the outfall.

Question: I want to exit the line on the starboard side, so I can see/monitor it. How high up on the side / freeboard should i exit it?? Too high and it reduces the flow capability due to head loss, too low and it come back in the boat.

Before I go drilling holes in my boat, I wanted to get some opinions and experiences from everyone.

Proposed location on attached picture. What do you think?

Thanks,

Jim
