Smile NJ Seacraft 23 Sceptre - boat ride ?

If you've got a 23' Sceptre and you're still in the water, or trailer fishing - I'd like a ride !!

Willing to chip in for fuel, or $ 50 just to ride around in the chop !

Need first hand experience to determine if the ride performance exceeds my rig enough to get my own Seacraft !

ps.........Iv'e got a positive attitude !

Got a nearly mint 96' Wellcraft V21 with same year Evinrude 150 hp looper, approx. 180hrs. Boat's in exceptional condition, .......... and I like it.

Ride characteristic before I installed tabs was fair to average. Would pound like any V bottom boat in 2' + chop on plane.

With the trim tabs - way improved ride. Keeps the bow down to to cut and slice through chop - running without pounding. A huge difference.

I've had 4 boats, from cuddy to center console and may even keep the V.

I've always liked what I read about the Seacraft 23's......and I like the layout of the Sceptre. It's more of an ocean rig - greater range with 100 gallon tank and we do fish pretty hard off the NJ coast. I still trailer chasing the bite from northern NJ to southern so I also like that it's easily trailerable.

So, the sceptre may be my " perfect boat " which I why I'll likely run around on one to see for myself.

The boat you have is a nice boat but you will be surprised with the ride of any Seacraft
I have a 23 cc and it rides better then the proline 251 it replaced and I was very happy with the proline's ride keep in mind the proline was heavier and longer!!
