Default Evinrude Spring Sale

Hi all,

I've never bought a new boat motor, but I see Evinrude is offering a Spring Sales Event. 6 yr warranty or 4.9%, and free rigging. 4.9% seems decent compared to bank rates for motors...

I'm looking at an Etec 115. At the risk of sounding "estupido" what could i expect labor costs be and what free rigging or discounted rigging package makes most sense. The only other new option I am considering is the 2.1L Merc 115.

Any guidance is welcome. 4.9% rate vs 6 yr. warranty. Total costs? Thanks, McGill

Me personally, no thanks on the Evinrude. I'll do Suzuki or Yamaha on my re-power if the old Yamaha ever gives up.

I was going to say that I would take the warranty. After trying to read all the small print, I'm confused. I guess its been a long time since I bought a motor, but I thought of rigging as a verb, not a noun. It gets me that when there is a long page of eye grabbing material and loads of tiny print, you still need to see the dealer for "details".

I bought a G1 Etec 300 last year on the spring sale and all required instruments, oil tank, and wiring harnesses were included as was an SS prop. Rigging labor was around 1K. i took the 6 year warranty and paid cash. Very happy 190 hours later.
