Default 23' Repower Old'sCool

Finally......Originally planned on I.M. Mike and Suzi 300. Logistically, couldn't work it out. Shout out to NoBones for his offer and Mike at I.M. If I went with Suzuki, Mike would get it.
Ken, I owe ya a cold one!

I went with the Yamaha 300 locally. 7 hours so far. I tried the Yamaha 3 blade SS Series 17P for 2.5 hrs. It was just OK. Hooked up with Ken at PropGods and got the Powertech 15 1/2 x 16 4 blade. Results are below. I'll post some pics early next week. Happy camper so far!

Hermco bracket, engine is third hole up, two guys (~320# total), 1/2 fuel (~60 gals.)

Lowest I could plane today was low 20's kts. I'll work on that as it was kinda rough.

Nice cruise was ~ 4000 rpm

RPM Speed GPS Kts GPH
1500 7 2.2
2000 8.1 3.5
2500 10.5 5.4
3000 14 7
3500 25 8.8
4000 28.5 12.5
4500 31.5 16.9
5000 35 21
5500 37 25.6
6000 42.8 29

Ken at ProGods helped with this and I'm satisfied! He figures good numbers on prop slip at WOT and prime cruise.

Sits nice in the water also.

Nice numbers. With my clunker Merc 225 EFI yesterday in perfect calm water, about 75 gal of gas, light load with only Deb and I, was able to get @ 4000 rpms, 26 knots at just under 13 GPH. You are getting that speed at around 3500 and 9 gph. Sweet. I never saw these numbers until I installed the manual jack plate and got the prop/cav plate up in the water.

It looks really good. Any chance you could post of a few close up shots of where the motor is mounted to the bracket? Due to where my floor will hit the transom I will likely have to install the bracket up 1 inch form the standard 26" for the bolts to clear on the inside.

Yeah Danny that's as good as it will ever get with a light load. You add tackle, full coolers, 3/4+ tank of gas, four to five people, plus all the crap women have to bring along and it drops rather dramatically. Last year in rough water, fully loaded heading out dolphin fishing, keeping just off plane and "plowing through" the 4 - 6' waves I looked back and could still see land, checked the GPS and had gone ten miles from the inlet. Then checked the fuel flow gauge and I had used a smooth 9.8 gallons. OUCH!!
